When installing a solid strip floor, you must leave the proper expansion area around the perimeter as solid wood floors will react to the presence of moisture and will contract and expand as a result. It’s also very important to acclimate the wood before installation. You are not recommended to install this type of flooring below ground level or directly over a concrete slab.
